✨ What’s New

A quick note

U301 has been evolving since Tealight Ltd. first launched it back in November 2023. We’ll be honest: we didn't always keep a formal log of every change. But we’ve since turned a corner, and this page is where you’ll find all our progress from November 2025 onwards.

Real-time links: Caching is gone

We’ve removed 301 redirect caching to give you better control. Now, when you delete a link, it’s gone instantly. This change also makes our click tracking much more precise, so you see exactly what’s happening as it happens.

Better branding: Custom 'Not Found' redirects

You can now control where users land when they hit a 404 on your custom domain. Set your redirect URL in the dashboard or via the API. This is a Pro feature designed to keep your brand experience consistent.

Claim your homepage: Redirect your root domain

Don’t let your root domain sit empty. You can now set a custom redirect for your domain's homepage. Handle it in the dashboard or via API. (Pro feature).

Beautiful QR codes with Banana QR

Short links are better when they're pretty. We added a quick way to customize your QR codes right from the homepage. You can use our sister tool, Banana QR, to style your codes and export them as PNGs or PDFs.

Full control: JavaScript SDK v0.0.6

We're expanding what you can do programmatically. The SDK now supports u301.links.get and u301.links.delete. We’ve also moved our build and signing process to GitHub Actions for better security and transparency.

Smarter development: JavaScript SDK v0.0.3

We added u301.domains.list to the SDK and finally fleshed out the documentation for link and domain management. More importantly, we added full TypeScript types, so your IDE will keep you from making silly mistakes.

Staying current: Next.js 16 & React 19

We spent the day under the hood updating our site to the latest and greatest. We’re now running on Next.js 16 and React 19. It’s mostly invisible to you, but everything should feel just a little bit snappier.

Hello, npm! (SDK v0.0.2)

We officially launched the u301 npm package. We also added detailed docs on how to handle analytics and an easier way to create API keys. It's never been easier to build on top of U301.
